The Language of Flowers Workshop

FREE hands-on workshop with Lori Pensini exploring native flowers, storytelling, and the Pilbara landscape through painting.

Join artist Lori Pensini for The Language of Flowers: A Pilbara Painting Workshop, held at the Red Earth Arts Precinct.

This hands-on workshop explores painting through the “language of flowers,” using native botanicals and the surrounding Pilbara coastal landscape as inspiration. Participants will work from curated still-life arrangements of local native flowers while learning observational painting techniques focused on colour, form, symbolism, and storytelling.

The workshop also encourages plein air painting, responding directly to the seasonal coastal environment, its light, atmosphere, and native flora. Participants will move between structured still-life study and landscape-based painting, supporting both guided instruction and individual creative exploration.

By incorporating locally sourced native botanicals and seasonal wildflowers where possible, this workshop offers an immersive, place-responsive experience connecting painting practice with Country, story, and environment.

Morning tea will be provided.

Saturday 12 September from 9am to 1pm
