From the moment the green ant’s journey to higher ground till the final breaking of the storm, THE WET connects you to place and immerses you in the hot damp. 

Circa Cairns is a new First Nations led circus ensemble creating exciting circus shows from the heart of Cairns. THE WET has been created on Country across Far North Queensland in response to the landscape and endless yarns with community. 

Drawing on these ancient stories of the wet tropics, this dynamic acrobatic show thrills while connecting everyone to Country. 

Conceived by Harley Mann (Wakka Wakka) and embodied by the Circa Cairns ensemble, THE WET is powerfully enduring circus, dripping with Culture.

Harley Mann – Director 

Harley Mann, is a Wakka Wakka man from Queensland Australia, who grew up on Gadigal country NSW.

Drawing on his own Aboriginal heritage as inspiration Harley founded Na Djinang Circus in 2017. Harley has since graduated with his bachelor of circus arts from NICA, worked with some of the world’s leading Circus companies, directed award winning performances and collaborated with the rising stars of the performing arts.
 
Under Harley’s guidance, Na Djinang have established themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting contemporary circus companies. In 2021 Na Djinang premiered a sold-out season of Arterial as a part of the Yirramboi Festival and received a green room award for the Contemporary & Experimental Performance.
 
In 2022 Harley embarked on a new adventure as the Artistic Director of Circa Cairns. This Circa contemporary circus initiative has seen Harley lead a team of diverse artist to create, perform and tour circus works from the nexus of Culture and place.
